The role of the mass media in influencing political process    $15.00
The following report will investigate the role of mass media in politics and will aim to prove the hypothesis that mass media reinforces existing stereotypes and prejudices in society while also shortly examining arguments against the hypothesis. Firstly the issues around gender stereotyping will be discussed, followed by problems arising from ethnical stereotyping, focusing particularly on issues with regards to Islam as well as Muslims. The paper concludes that although there are some positive cases, the strong arguments supporting the hypothesis proves that the mass media does reinforce as well as construct social stereotypes around the images that are produced, and by doing so they are capable of shaping the individual's attitudes and beliefs. The mass media, in fact, can be seen as a product of Britain’s culture that is biased like any other culture, with assumptions, stereotypes and prejudices. ... More Details

Final Essay for World Religions    $35.00
Introductory Paragraph: The plethora of religions throughout the known world, their differing origins, followers, and belief systems may seem to the casual observer as dissimilar in everyway. How is the god Brahman of Hinduism, whose followers worship him in idol form, similar to the austere Christian God of the Roman Catholics, who reject the notion of idol worship? How is Islam, with its millions of adherents sharing the goal of pilgrimage to Mecca like the Buddhists’ search for nirvana in East Asia? How could Wicca possibly be likened to Protestant Christianity? The differences are vast, truly, but there are common themes or elements in many, if not all belief systems. Surely the focus on the physical attributes of the Supreme Being, the idea of the omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, and the reoccurrence of a holy trinity are good places to start when searching for common elements in a sea of diversity. The actual physical image of “God,” in this sense the ultimate transcendent being, is varied between different belief systems. The overall opinion seems to be that God is a male figure. This idea was perhaps perpetuated through the more current centuries of patriarchal societies, and thus the ultimate being is a patriarch, which is in stark contrast to the earlier pagan and tribal religions, which were focused on fertility and procreation as the means for a people to survive and continue. Female deities and mother goddesses were important figures then. However, once the worry of simple survival is dissipated, ... More Details

Amphetamines a Discontinued Future    $15.00
Medical technology has advanced significantly over the past centuries. By trial and error, societies have managed to, not only improve health care, but have found new, safer, and effective ways to treat certain disorders.
