| Letter Position Coding In Printed Word Perception: Measuring the Effects of.......... | $25.00 | |
| In this experiment 25 psychology students reported as having normal or corrected-to-normal vision took part.
Word Analysis: ANOVA on mean RT revealed that presence of a repeated letter increase RT for targets F1 (1, 41) =7.38, p< 0.001, in the item analysis, however, the effect was not as significant, F2 (1, 84) = 0.97. Prime type had a major effect, F1 (1, 82) =46.29, p< 0.001, F2 (2, 1.68) =49.74, p< 0.001. Comparisons which were planned among different word conditions revealed that much faster RTs were produced due to primed conditions F1 (1, 41)=59.64, p< 0.001, F2 (1, 84)=67.32, p< 0.001 for the skipped repeat case, and F1 (, 41)=60.47, p< 0.001, F2 (1, 84)=31.94, p< 0.001, for the skipped unique case. ANOVA applied on error percentages to word targets revealed a great major effect of target type, F1 (1, 41) =10.16, p< 0.001, F2 (1, 84) =4.79, p< 0.001. Accuracy here remained lower in case of words having repeated letters.
Nonword Analysis: Here the ANOVA conducted wit RT being the independent variable showed a major effect of target type, F1 (1, 41)=18.45, p< 0.001, that was not much in item analysis, and F2 (1, 84)=2.07. Looking at the accuracy analysis, the major effect of target type was also much in the participant evaluation, F1 (1, 41) =6.62, p <0.001, but not being the same in the item analysis, F2 (1, 84) =1.44. Here the absence of a repeated letter in nonword targets tended to produce quicker RTs and fewer mistakes than nonword targets containing a repeated letter.

| The Effects of “Sibling Syndrome” on a Child Without a Disorder | $20.00 | |
| Children may experience dramatic effects as a result of being raised by a sibling with a psychological disorder. These effects are often known as “Sibling Syndrome.” It has been discovered that siblings may experience a variety of responses, including increased stress, depression, and anxiety. However, this adversity can often result in enrichment in these children’s lives, and bring about numerous positive effects. There are many factors involved, but it is thought that some of the strongest factors include the family’s ability to adapt to the additional stress, spiritual and community support, and strong communication. This research is important so that families containing a child with a psychological disorder can learn some of the ways that they may overturn some of the negative effects of the situation, and indeed overall benefit from the experience.... | Facial Piercings in the Job Market: Does This Affect One From Getting Hired On? | $60.00 | |
| Facial piercings have become a fashion statement that has been widely used throughout the whole world in today’s day and age. The main purpose of our study is to see if these facial piercings will have an effect on how an employer views an individual. Our hypotheses are as follows. First of all, we believe that there would be no significant differences in gender of the models with regard to the employers’ perceptions of job characteristics in a job candidate, whether they would get hired, and what their salary range may be. Secondly, we believe that employers would rate these items higher for job candidates without piercings rather than those with piercings. The methods that were used were in survey format, and were given to 176 participants of all different demographic qualitites. Each survey consisted of 12 questions (10 were on a 5 point scale, 1 on a 4 point scale, and the third on the salary range) on the model (with or without piercings). Two models were used (one black female and once white male) in this study, each taking pictures with and without piercings. Each survey consisted of only one picture (male vs. female; with vs. without). Our results showed that there was a significant gender difference in 10 out of the 12 dependant variables. There was a significant difference in whether the model had piercings or not in 8 out of the 12 dependant variables, but there were no significant difference in the interactions between the female and male with piercings, and the female and male without piercings. ...
