The challenges faced in HIV trials    $20.00
the successes in biomedical prevention have enabled the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS to become possible. The success was codified starting with blood protection, tissue and organ supply with tests for antibodies and later antigens of HIV .Moreover, the techniques that proved success to prevention of HIV transmission was through formula feeding and Caesarean sections, trials of prevention of mother-to-child transmission with antiretroviral, and non-vaccine biomedical interventions (Auerbach and Coates, 2000). These interventions created prospects for the future large scale control of HIV transmission. Evidence from countries as diverse as Senegal, Thailand, Uganda, and Australia had proving that concerted HIV prevention efforts at the national level have resulted in the maintenance of low seroprevalence rates where they otherwise would have been expected to rise (Auerbach and Coates, 2000). The observed declining rates of HIV prevalence and incidence in populations with historically high rates--for example, injection drug users in inner city of New York City. This trend points to the long-term impact of prevention efforts in those communities. The best of these efforts have been based on sound scientific research. As we are approaching fast into the third decade of the AIDS pandemic, it is important to restate principles, acknowledge advances, and identify challenges and future directions in HIV research. In the essay we will be reviewing the challenges faced by HIV clinical trials investigator from subject recruitment to subject follow-up and study participants retention in HIV/AIDS clinical trials.... PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE    $20.00
In formal health institutions there are a variety of nursing reports which may be verbal, face to face reporting, taped or bedside reporting. The nursing report presents the nurses with chances for interaction with the patients and their families and also with other health care givers. When effective communication is established, patients are able to provide necessary information about their medical conditions which is important in timely diagnosis and competent medical care to improve the clinical outcomes of the diseases. The nurses establish total control of the patients care during the handover between different working shifts. There are many challenges which are involved in the reporting process like the issue of information confidentiality. It has been observed that reporting is ritualistic and the established culture together with the leadership plays a big role in determining the approval of bedside reporting. It is therefore important for nurse leaders to monitor the implementation of bedside reporting approach for it to be effective. There may be instances when there lack certain crucial information on patients health in the reports. As gatekeepers of patientsâ information, the nurses may decide on which information to include depending on their experience and the specific patient they are handling. Inconsistencies have been reported in nursesâ reporting process due to issues of disparities in the nursesâ education, experiences and personal attitudes. It is important therefore to increase efforts in standardization of information provided. This will reduce instances of medical errors due to miscommunication and eventually lead to improved care for all patients in our hospitals. In deed by so doing, patient and family centered care will have had a major leap in the positive direction. ... More Details

Combating Malaria by use of Grand Theory    $20.00
In the absence of effective drugs during an epidemic of malaria in the highlands of Burundi, vector control programme combining IRS and ITN was feasible despite a context of complex emergency. Vector populations were much reduced, but there is no evidence that the vector control intervention changed the natural evolution of the epidemic. This programme did, however, lead to better surveillance systems being established by the government so that future epidemics may be identified earlier. As well, the experience gained from the IRS and ITNs showed that these measures, known to be effective in preventing epidemics, could be feasibly introduced, even in the context of a complex emergency situation. The combination of improved prevention, earlier detection, and treatment with more effective drugs should help to make serious epidemics of malaria in the Burundi highlands a thing of the past. ...
