Summary: Theory is always for someone and for some purpose and men tend to make history in conditions created for them, but not by them. This essay engages with the different models in international relations, most notably realism, neo-liberalism and the dependency model. It comes to the conclusion that conflict will always exist because of the fact that we face a situation of constant paradigm shift and consequently the problem of incommensurability. Works cited: 22
