This letter is written as a positive reference for a recent student of mine, Nadia Chandiwala, regarding her performance in English 1B, Introduction to Literature, Critical Thinking and Critical Analysis.
When Nadia started the class, right away, she had something to say. Never afraid to speak her mind, from the first day, Nadia helped shape the feeling and discussion in the classroom. Her complex ideas helped shaped the classroom from the first day. From early on, she stated her opinions and encouraged her peers to do the same.
Over the next few weeks, Nadiaís grasp of the concepts of literature and analysis and her self-awareness began to increase. She applied peer and instructor comments to her own writing and began to offer her peers comments as well. As she began to learn more about literature, her capability really started to expand. She met the objective of the class: to develop her ability to analyze and criticize a piece of writing.
I would proudly recommend Nadia for a job such as tutoring where her voice would be valued and respected as she has valued and respected her peers in my classroom. She is a dedicated, meticulous student who uses her time wisely. She is polite and gracious to her fellow classmates. She is a kind, conscientious person who is really interested in continuing the development of her own voice through the acquisition of knowledge. In addition to her complex understanding of the written language, Nadia is also an eloquent speaker. She would make a fine addition to any institution or place of employment.
