Summary: In my mind, the iPhone is much better. I own one so my answer may be skewed, but I have tried the Storm and read some reviews of it.
Price-wise I think the two are very close, both in initial cost and monthly cost. The real difference comes in their interfaces. I am a big fan of the iPhone interface. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s very intuitive and well laid out. The web browsing is simple and and zooming feature is very easy to use.
Verizon likes to put their crappy interface into all the phones they have, including BlackBerry. Their software is often times very slow and unresponsive
Another issue is wi-fi. I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t believe the Storm has any Wi-fi capabilities, while the iPhone will work (internet only) in Wi-fi areas without accessing the 3G network.
